Hope Havens Christmas party is one of our most cherished events where we join the residents for a meal and come prepared to give out gifts which the children and seniors have requested. Bean bags for every child turned out to be a big hit last Christmas! These are just a few that give us a different kind of experience than our fundraising events we do to support charities.

Currently, we sponsor the Salem High School Key Club and a scholarship program which has been organized and funded for years by our Club. The Scholarship committee reviews the applications and then interviews the finalists. We are always amazed at the intelligence and wonderful personalities of high school seniors in our community competing for the Kiwanis Scholarships.

Along with our beer tent, there is great music on the stage, and this year we are selling something new…wine! Excitement on the boardwalk, fun times making new friends at the Kiwanis tent, and the memories you make will last a lifetime!

The Neptune Festival is committed to annually returning thousands of dollars to local charities. As a participant, volunteer, spectator or sponsor, your presence at Neptune Festival events ensures fun and enjoyment for the entire family, while giving back to your community! Kiwanis’ current global campaign for children, The Eliminate Project: Kiwanis eliminating maternal/neonatal tetanus, (www.TheEliminateProject.org) aims to raise US$110 million and save the lives of 129 million mothers and their future babies. In partnership with UNICEF, Kiwanis is committing by 2015 to eliminating maternal/neonatal tetanus, a disease that kills one baby every nine minutes. By targeting this disease, Kiwanis will not only save lives but also pave the way for other interventions that will boost maternal health and child survival among the poorest, most underserved women and children in the world. About the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society

Founded in 1904, the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is a private non-profit charitable organization. It is sponsored by the Department of the Navy and operates nearly 250 offices ashore and afloat at Navy and Marine Corps bases throughout the world. It is managed by a Board of Directors whose members are active duty or retired members of the Naval Services, or spouses of active duty or retired members of the Naval Services.

The mission of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is to provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational, and other assistance to members of the Naval Services of the United States, eligible family members, and survivors when in need; and to receive and manage funds to administer these programs.

Kiwanis at the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival

This is one of our favorite fundraisers. Think about it, you are responsible for selling beer at the Neptune Festival, which is recognized as one of the largest and most successful festivals on the East Coast.

Along with our beer tent, there is a black-tie gala, a seaside wine tasting, an exciting athletic event, or a 32 block long party on the boardwalk, the memories you make will last a lifetime!
